GOMBAK, 2 April 2020: A total of 13 students from “Kor Siswa Siswi Pertahanan Awam” (SISPA) IIUM had lent their hands to help with the Office of Security and Management (OSeM) yesterday (1 April) morning to assist in controlling the situation in IIUM due to the spread of COVID-19.
This initiative was an idea of the adjutant of Kor SISPA IIUM, Mejar Bersekutu (PA) Roestam Effendi Bin Sijar, who requested for the students of Kor SISPA IIUM who are currently staying in mahallah to join OSeM to give support during this Movement Control Order (MCO) due to COVID-19.
All of them have to cooperate for 14 days starting today until MCO ends. According to Pegawai Kadet SISPA (PKS), Sumaiyyah Binti Mohd Zaki, they were really excited as it was their first time handling such a big task. œAt first, maybe some of us are worried to join this collaboration since it is a risky task but after all, we are very grateful to join the front liners in IIUM. It is a great moment to be shared with, she added.
Furthermore, she said that the experience of communicating with the public, analysing the problem with much detail and securing the safety of IIUM community, would benefit SISPA members to give their services in future.
œWe can also enhance ourselves in volunteerism, Sumaiyyah said.
œI hope we can give our best for our lovely alma mater to protect the IIUM community from COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. May Allah bless us all with good health and protect us from this disease, she added. ***
