IIUM hosts ‘The New India Growth Story: Emerging Opportunities Malaysia and Asean’ event

GOMBAK, 18 May 2024: The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is set to host a groundbreaking event, The New India Growth Story: Emerging Opportunities in Malaysia and ASEAN, on Monday, 20 May 2024. This initiative aims to explore the dynamic growth of India and its expanding engagement with the ASEAN region, offering a platform for dialogue, innovation, and mutual learning.

The objectives of this event are as follows:

  • Foster Regional Solidarity: Promote cultural understanding and mutual respect among diverse student groups.
  • Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: Highlight economic, social, and technological synergies between India and ASEAN countries.
  • Stimulate Academic and Professional Interest: Encourage collaborative research, innovation, and development projects.
  • Enhance IIUM’s International Profile: Attract a diverse student body and foster global connections.
  • Inspire Future Contributions: Encourage participants to envision and contribute to a prosperous future for India and ASEAN.

  • Venue: Banquet Hall, Level 5, Muhammad Abdul Rauf Building, IIUM
  • Organizers: Political Science Students Association (POSSA), Policy and Area Studies Research Unit (PASRU) and Association of Indian Students (AIS)
  • Theme:  Fostering Growth and Integration: Exploring New Horizons Between India and ASEAN

The keynote address will be delivered by His Excellency Mr. B.N. Reddy, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, that will shine light on the enormous opportunities and cooperative paths that are found today and beyond.

The expected number of participants is 150. The distinguished participants who are expected to come are as follows:
