GOMBAK, 24 March 2020: The Alumni Relations Divisions of IIUM has distributed a total of 3,000 food bags for IIUM students who are staying in campus during this Control Movement Order (CMO) on Monday (23 March).
The food bags that contain dry foods have been donated by the alumni and public in general as the Alumni Relations Division had managed to collect RM105,730 in less than three days following the launching of the donation drive.
The food bags were distributed at Mahallah with the cooperation of the Principal of Mahallah to ensure that the students adhere to the social distancing protocol.
The food bags were also distributed to the students with disability directly to their respective rooms in the Mahallah to ensure that their welfare were being taken care of.
The Deputy Director of Alumni Relation Divisions, Ms. Siti Aisyah Ibrahim told IIUMToday that the division will make another round of distribution next week and that it still accepts donations from the public.
Ms. Siti Aisyah further noted that the food bags will be distributed in IIUM Kuantan, Pagoh and Gambang on Wednesday (25 March) or Thursday (26 March).
She also asked the students to follow the advice and fulfil their responsibilities to help curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, at the same time, keeping the test as a reminder of how fragile human beings are while putting the trust and hope on Allah.
The Food Bag Donation Drive is still open to the alumni and the general public who intend to donate and donation can be made until 27 March 2020 to:
