Kids Quran Hour, more than just a competition

GOMBAK, 25 November 2019: Jam’iyyatu Khadamatil Quran (JKQ) Club has successfully organised Kids Quran Hour programme in collaboration with Akademi Fateh Hakim on Saturday (23 November) aimed to produce the Al-Fateh generation and to cultivate love towards the Quran among the children.

According to its programme manager, Siti Nur Saodah Binti Shamsul, the event which was held at the Experimental Hall, in IIUM campus here, was also to show the kids’ talents.

Known as Garden of Professional Huffaz, the Akademi Fateh Hakim has been actively functioned as a comprehensive learning centre for kids, not only focusing on the Quranic lessons but also on robotic, archery and calligraphy (khat) lessons, which are based in Kg. Sg. Chinchin, Gombak.

Under the guidance of their teachers, a large number of kids from various learning centres including Pusat Kebajikan Darul Ilmi, Rohingya Education Centre, Akademi Fateh Hakim, and PPR Kampung Baru Air Panas have participated in robotic and archery competition and performances, judged by Ustaz Saifudin Akmal Bin Suhaimi.

There were also astonishing performances by the kids which highlighted the tortures and hurdles faced by Prophet Muhammad SAW during his journey to spread the da’wah.

Siti Nur Saodah said it was a very deep heart-warming session experienced by the kids. “Their performances were not only meant for entertainment but also worked as a reminder to us to become better Muslims who are always concerned with time management.”
