GOMBAK, 15 November 2019: Theatre Zombi, directed by Khairunazwan Rodzy, had been staged three times now due to popular requests.
This time it was staged in IIUM involving a collaboration between Orphix Art, Film and Creative Production Club (FCPC) and IIUM Theatre Club.
The show went on for two days on 11 and 12 November, held at the Main Auditorium which managed to attract almost 1000 audiences for both days.
Moreover, the theatre became more interesting because all crew members were dressed up as zombies to make it look more realistic.
Not only that, the booth outside the entrance theatre hall was decorated according to the theatre’s theme so that the audiences can take photos to keep for their memories.
œFor me, the story of this theatre touched on the issue of ignorance and hypocrisy of the mankind, and the Judgement Day. Pointed out was the reference to Kota Putih as the Holy Mecca, said the play programme manager, Sharmanshah bin Shahren.
One of the audiences, Nur Najwa bt Khairil Fithri, said, œIt was a great theatre. There was one scene that touched my heart the most on the love of Khalid to his parents where he tried to find them because he missed them so much.”
Most of the audiences said that this theatre was full of lessons to be learnt as it is related directly to real life.
The phrase œSebelum matahari merajuk referred to the Judgement Day. œIt relates to people nowadays who are busy chasing for a good life in this world, forgetting the life of the Hereafter, said Nabila Raffi. ***
