GOMBAK, 25 September 2019 – In an effort to raise awareness on the importance of mental health, the Secretariat of Psychology (PSYCSTA) will be organising a World Mental Health Week 2019 from 6 to 11 October.
The programme is held in conjunction with the World Mental Health Day which is celebrated every 10th October annually since 1992,.
This event is aimed to provide information on mental health service available in Malaysia to encourage people to seek professional mental health treatments and to change public perception towards people with mental illness through exposing real life examples of people with mental health problem.
With the theme Developing Resilience PSYCSTA’s programme will be held as follows:

2. | 7 October – 10 October | Exhibition and Screening | HS Square, 9AM – 5PM (Exhibition) and Hs Seminar Room, 8PM-10PM |
3. | 8 October 2019 | Talk: Its Okay Not to Be Okay | Talk will be given by Ms Pamilia Lourdunathan (Psychology lecturer in IIUM) at Experimental Hall, IIUM. 8PM-10PM |
4. | 10 October 2019 | Forum: Solace | A forum discussing experiences of mental illnesses will be held at HS Seminar Room, 8PM-10:30PM |
5. | 11 October 2019 | Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) | Training will be given by a lecturer from Universiti Malaya (UM) at HS Seminar Room. 9AM-5PM |
