GOMBAK, 16 October 2018: The bowling alley at Wangsa Superbowl, Wangsa Walk was brimming with excitement on Friday (12 October) as IIUM students competed with each other in a friendly game of bowling for the BENL Bowl event.

Organised by the Secretariat of English Language and Literature (ELITS), the event was the third of its kind since its inception in the second semester of 2016/2017.

With over 40 participants joining in the fun, the event aimed to develop self-esteem and self-confidence among students through positive sporting experiences.

ELITS hoped for the event to be a platform for students to hone their social skills and encourage social interaction among one another.

The manager of BENL Bowl, Anis ‘Aqeelah said, “We’re hoping for it to be an annual and trademark event of ELITS.”

She hopes that next year’s instalment will include more students from all over KIRKHS.

One of the participants, Soufi Badri, shared the joy he was feeling as he bowled against his other friends during the event.

“It was so much fun! I ended up with a sore arm though. Can’t wait to join it again next time!”

The event started at 3:00 p.m. and ended at 5:00 p.m. with the crowning of two students named Farooq and Maisarah as champions for the male and female categories respectively.***
