GOMBAK, 14 October 2018: The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) is putting great effort to spread awareness and eliminate negative perception towards the disabled as well as to lessen the burden and pain faced by them, both physically and emotionally, thereby hoping to improve their life in IIUM.

In its upcoming programme named “IIUM Disability Grand Awareness Campaign” (IDGAC) several interesting activities for IIUM and non-IIUM communities have been lined up by the SRC starting from 5 until 7 November.

There is also an online competition before the start of the campaign such as poster random act of kindness and writing letter to the disabled. The competition will be open until 28 October and 2 November respectively.

An opening ceremony and a symposium will be held on 5 November, followed by sports day and painting pathway event on 6 November. And on 7 November there will be an event called IIUM Disability Equality Training (IDET) followed by the closing ceremony.

All IIUM students are encouraged to participate and support this campaign. The SRC hoped that this campaign will become an eye opener to the IIUM community to respect and protect the rights of the handicapped.***
