Asma Caixinyue wins œVoice for Ummah contest

GOMBAK, 4 November 2017: Asma Caixinyue’s topic on “The unity of the Muslim ummah” won her the first place in “Voice for Ummah” competition, which was held at Experimental Hall on Thursday (2 November).

With the title œWhen your right hand is injured, let me be your left hand”, Asmas eloquence struck a chord with the audience and judges alike, awarding her a well-deserved victory.

œIf we consider the whole ummah as one body, then why do we keep emphasising on the scars? she asked her audience.

Asma, who hails from China, took home a trophy and a certificate. She said that she was “extremely happy” to have won this competition and to be able to represent and voice out for the ummah.

Fatima Altalib who spoke about œThe heart and the Muslim ummah and Kadeeja Raeda who spoke about œPalestine won second and third place respectively.

“Voice for Ummah” is a speech competition among IIUM students organised by Al-Aqsa Friends Society. It was aimed at creating awareness among all about the contemporary hardships faced by the Muslims all over the world.***
