Kashmiri musical concert coming to town on 1st April

GOMBAK, 27 March 2017: Kashmir is a majestic land with rich musical heritage and cultural legacy that have always been the source of inspiration to emperors, poets and writers.

For the first time ever, a Kashmiri musical concert will be held in the heart of Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur – featuring Kashmir’s superstars Irfan, Bilal and Mehmeet Syed, also known as the IBM of Kashmir.

“They are performing around the world, and at every show, they will collaborate with local musicians. So also here in Malaysia they will collaborate with local talents,” said Waqar Andrabi, from the concert’s organising committee.

The Kashmiri language is at the verge of becoming a relic, thus the artists are on a tour to show the world the mesmerising Sufi fusion style music in an attempt to revive and preserve the Kashmiri language, culture and music as well as to strengthen the Kashmiri communities across the globe.

“During the concert, audiences will be served Kashmiri traditional drinks, kahwa and nun chai which is tea with a dash of salt, and also Kashmiri bread for a complete Kashmiri experience,” added Hanan Durrani, an organiser as well as a student of the International Islamic University Malaysia.
