GOMBAK, 19Â November 2016: A theatre performance entitled ‘Lelaki Dari Hujung Kota’ which was a sequel from ‘Lelaki Dari Dhaka’ staged last year turned out to be a great success.
The performance, held at the Main Auditorium from 8.00 p.m to 10.30 p.m on November 18 night, was a collaboration between Quranic Youth Club (QYC), Produksi RumahCantik and Hidayah Centre Foundation.
“Alhamdulillah, at first I was so worried about the promotion of the event, but when closer to the date of the event and after we released our trailer, we received a lot of positive response, and all of our tickets were sold. I hope the audience could catch the idea on what we are trying to convey like how we interact with the non-Muslims.,” said Nur Afiqah Md Azmi, the programme manager.
“Next, how we value the authenticity of the knowledge, that is, not by imitation only. In addition, if we see any flaws or something that goes wrong, we must be brave to speak up and to not deny the truth. Lastly, we can see all these in the concept of how we spread dakwah to the non-Muslims,” she added.
The director of the theatre, Nurus Syamilah Amir Hamzah, said she also has a plan to continue the sequel with more collaboration with other production houses in the future and we will take the messages from Al-Quran and Al-Sunnah and presented it in a theatre form.
“For me, the theatre is not just a normal theatre, as this one is full of lessons that I can apply in my life. There is one scene that touched my heart the most that I shed my tears,” said Nur Sakeenah Mohd Azlan, who was one of the audiences.
“It is when the main actor is trying to highlight the importance of forgiving others in our life even though they make a big mistake and I think they managed to convey the message very well. Overall, it’s a great theatre and I enjoyed the performance.” ***
