Ahmad Ibrahim 15th annual lecture on implementing Islamic finance

GOMBAK, 16 November 2016: The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law (AIKOL) will be organising the 15th annual lecture commemorating Tan Sri Datuk Prof. Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim’s contributions towards the development of Malaysia’s legal institution at the Moot Court AIKOL tomorrow (16 November).

President of Law Society (LAWSOC) 15/16, Ahmad Hafizuddin Manjur Ahmad, said that the annual lecture usually discusses the contributions of Prof. Ahmad Ibrahim in the history of law, and for this year, the lecture will focus on his contribution in the field of finance especially the Islamic banking.

The lecture will be delivered by Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar who is currently the President of the International Institute of Islamic Finance (IIIF) Inc. (BVI) and Amanie Advisors Sdn. Bhd. He has a broad experience in Islamic banking and currently holds various membership of different institutions in Shariaah advisory capacity.

Dr. Mohd Daud will be elaborating on what Islamic banking is all about and how Islamic banking in Malaysia survives through marketing.

Hafizuddin also said that the lecture will be explaining more on how the Shariaah Advisory Council works in order to ensure the Islamic banking is in line with Shariaah compliances. Besides, it is to expose to the society on the needs of having the Islamic banking system in Malaysia.

The lecture will be targeting about 300 participants from among students, members of public and lecturers.
