GOMBAK, 16 November 2016 – A Faith Festival 2016 (FAFEST16), a first ever festival for the Orang Asli community, on the theme ‘Restoring Humanity”, organised by PERKIM Secretariat IIUM, will be held in IIUM Gombak campus from 20 until 24 November 2016.
According to PERKIM, the festival is to introduce the orang Asli community as well as their target groups which are the muallaf and homeless people.
The four-day festival will contain activities such as talk on the homeless featuring Ustaz Don Daniyal, baking session with Chow Kit community, charity cycling, Muallaf Tribute Night, and an exhibition.
Apart from that, sales sites also will be offered to be rent out for the IIUM community and the outsiders. Sales booth will be opened at Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) courtyard.
Based on the motto ˜The Revival of the Ummah, PERKIM, an organisation based in IIUM under the University Centre for Community Engagement Department (UCCE), is focusing mainly on its primary target groups like Orang Asli community, the muallaf and the homeless.
