World Quran Hour expected to draw 5000 people in IIUM

GOMBAK, 10 Sept 2016: The President of IIUM, Tan Sri Dato Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim, and IIUM Rector, Prof. Dato Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamarudin, will be joining some 5000 participants at World Quran Hour tomorrow (Sunday, 11 September) at IIUM along with staffs, students and public.

The event is organised by Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas  (YWUI).

IIUM as the main host of World Quran Hour is inviting everyone to spend an hour with Quran by reciting, reading the translation and understanding the Al-Quran at Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah IIUM Gombak.

Those who cannot attend the occasion in IIUM are encouraged to do it at their respective places between 9.00 a.m till 10 a.m Malaysia time. While those who want to participate in the event are advised to bring along a Quran.

More participants worldwide are expected to take part in the World Quran Hour on 9 Zulhijjah 1437 Hijrah (11 September 2016).

In support of World Quran Hour, live telecast will be available on TV1, TV3, Astro Oasis, TV Alhijrah and Bernama TV at 8.30 a.m.

The World Quran Hour is held in the spirit of uniting the Muslims.***
