Only three Islamic universities in the world

There are only three International Islamic Universities around the world. They are International Islamic University Islamabad which is the oldest one, followed by International Islamic University Malaysia and International Islamic University Chittagong.

International Islamic University Islamabad

International Islamic University Islamabad is situated in Sector H-10 Islamabad, Pakistan. The university was founded in 11 November 1980. The university was built with the aim of delivering students who are successful both in academic and Islamic studies. With the Islamisation of the courses, students are expected to implement Islamic way of life in their work life. The university is situated within the area of Faisal Mosque that spreads over an area of 189, 705 square meters.

IIUI offers various faculties;
Arabic Studies
Basic and Applied Sciences
Engineering and Technology
International Institute of Islamic Economics
Usuluddin (Islamic Studies)
Languages and Literature
Management Sciences
Shariah and Law
Social Sciences

International Islamic University Malaysia

International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) or locally known as Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) is founded by the idea of Malaysia’s former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. The university received Establishment Order by Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al Mu’tasim Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ria’yatuddin al Muadzam Shah which then became the university’s big masjid named after his name, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah’s Mosque. International Islamic University Malaysia was established in 1983.

International Islamic University Chittagong

International Islamic University Chittagong is situated in Bangladesh. The establishment of the university was initiated by the Islamic University Chittagong Trust (IUCT). IIUC is a private university approved by its government and is among the top graded university. Even though it is a private university, it is under a non-profit oriented voluntary organisation, Trust. The idea of developing IIUC emerged based on a responsible action in having an Islamic institution that would deliver students having Islamic vision in their life. This great university in Bangladesh was founded in 1995.

The university offers five faculties for students. They are;
Shariah and Islamic studies
Science and Engineering
Arts and Humanities
Business studies
Faculty of Laws***
