GOMBAK, 25 November 2015: More than 300 people from outside and inside the university campus visited the Food Fair at the business compound yesterday in conjunction with Ummatic Week 2015. This Food Fair is held for three days from yesterday until Thursday (26 November).

Festival goers sampled culinary delights from a record 10 stalls, and watched different kinds of food from culturally diverse society including Korean, Thai, Pakistan and Mexican.

They also enjoyed live cooking demonstrations by chef Prisca Jin making bibimbap, pajeon pancake and also the most famous Tteokbokki.

Tteokbokki is a special menu in Korea for street food that you surely cannot resist,” Prisca said.

One of the unique attractions was a food truck which is current and real trend for the people who wanted to eat food from a food truck instead of going to the restaurant. There were three food trucks at the Food Fair selling a variety of food that included different kind of burgers, a gigantic coffee, spaghetti and more.

“The weather held out perfectly today, I don’t find a reason you need to go out and pay more when you can have all these here.  I really wish this festival is happening every day,” said Athirah Marzuki, who took time to visit the Food Fair.

Meanwhile, Ummi Zhafirah who was in charge of the Food Fair 2015 expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming response to the fair.

“We had fantastic feedback from festival visitors, traders, and chefs. The support from the public and our partners are just amazing. This is somewhat a motivation for us to further improvise our participation next year,” she said.

The Food Fair has been an annual event for Ummatic Week. This year’s Ummatic Week started on 22 November and ends on 30 November 2015. ***
