GOMBAK, 19 November 2015: It was a very inspirational and motivational morning for the IIUM.fm crew and listeners as they received a very special guest for a short interview and sharing session on air.
Prof. Dr. Muhaya Hj. Mohamad went live on the campus radio from 10:30a.m to 11:30a.m with DJ Syak and DJ Zai as she spoke about the “Secrets to a Successful Life”.
Simply put, a successful life is, according to Prof. Dr. Muhaya, “If you live your life meaningfully and purposefully with every moment, making the correct choices to benefit others then that is a successful life.”
She explained that throughout life, we are bound to face difficulties. In order to remain positive, she said, these obstacles may be overcome by two principles.
First, we have to take responsibility for everything that happens in our life without complaining or blaming others.
Second, the equation “event plus response equals outcome”. The events of our lives are inevitable and unpredictable. Hence, it is our response towards life events that determines the outcomes to our life.
Prof. Dr. Muhaya is the director and eye surgeon consultant with Prof. Muhaya Eye & Lasik Centre. Medicine aside, she is also a prominent motivational and inspirational speaker, regularly appearing on multiple television and radio stations.
She has been often invited to give lectures at several government agencies and private institutions.
In addition, she has authored 12 books, runs a personal TV show aired on TV Al-Hijrah and manages a clothing line she calls “Modest Culture”.***
