TEMPORARY reprieve, that was all. After just a few days, the smog is back and making its presence felt in no small way. A hazy view, varying only in degree, is the best view residents in the badly affected areas can have of their surroundings. For those not in offices, the air-conditioning comes on so the children kept away from school yesterday can be saved from breathing the toxic, polluted air. It has been more than a month since the winds blew the smoke from forest and peatland fires in Indonesia to Sarawak and most parts of the Peninsula. And the public is resorting to social media to protest against the smog, but are obviously helpless to stop it. What can the Malaysian public do to mitigate the problem?
