I have been left out of my phone

By Muhammad Haji

Six months ago it was a funny experience! I decided to dispense with a mobile phone for some times, for some reasons, I prefer not to reveal them now! I was given the phone a few hours of daily, between dealing with the messages or calls.

For more than five years until it became dealt with and accompanied the cause of the communicative deficiency with friend, and not focusing with him in his speech or his story, seconds appointed him and seconds on the phone screen! I open sessions to review the messages when I am at home, traveling, morning and night.

I finally decided to be away for phone since the blessed Ramadan, and was limited to indirect communication on public networks, as “Twitter” and “Instagram”. Then I began few weeks ago to infiltrate messages and browsed in a hurry, what did I find?

I realised that the possibility of self-dispensing experience many things may seem to get rid of them impossible at first glance. The idea of cutting out things is very difficult at the first time, especially when dispense by our choice without compulsion or coercion. Try to dispense your car, your TV or your watch for a while, and try to monitor the return on yourself and looking for alternatives.

Nowadays with new technology, social media has become famous and popular. Everyone has a smart phone, even some of them have more than one. People are influenced by the social media and they are addicted. Some of them cannot live without smart phones. They spend many hours on social media. To cut off any sort of social media is not complicated. It depends on one’s intention.

I realised that at first it is difficult to cut off things that I have been used for long time. But when I have tried once then will be easy for me. It means I can stay away from social media such as, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube. Because when I have intention in myself then I can implement. My intention will make me having confidence in myself.

It means social media are not very important and I am not addicted by them. I use social media but not having to spend many hours on my smart phone. I just reply if there are any messages. Some people have less respect and no eye contact which is one of important things in conversation because of social media.
