Campaign to create awareness of IIUMToday and IIUM.fm

GOMBAK, 4 December 2014: It’s an innovation by a Public Relations Campaign (COMM 4750) class to promote IIUMToday and IIUM.fm for three days throughout the campus from today until Wednesday (10 December) by creating awareness emphasising the key message, IIUMEDIA: Empower You.

This campaign initiative is intended to highlight the key message: that the media being a powerful platform to empower students and staff to bring up their views and opinion which would be listened to and read by the larger audiences, not only within the IIUM campus but also in other parts of the world, since we now live in a world of connectivity through recent technological development.

The awareness campaign will be using “sandwich man road tour” as the main tactic to take the class to different selected locations, such as the Kulliyyah of Economic and Management Sciences (KENMS), Kulliyyah of Education (KOED), Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), and Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) as well with the Azman Hashims Complex and Business Centre. The campaign has one impact objective in mind, to create awareness and to spread the message widely among both students and staff.

The road show is also offering various prizes to the lucky persons who contribute their like on official Facebook page of IIUMToday and IIUM.fm. Prizes will be given to those who participate in answering a simple pop quiz regarding IIUM.fm and IIUMToday.

In order to maximise continuous awareness of IIUMToday and IIUM.fm in the campus 100 posters will be displayed on tables of four selected cafeteria. This tactic is used to expose the people  to the same message to make them remember that IIUMToday, an online campus newspaper and IIUM. fm radio, which could help them to empower their views on any subject to be communicated to the target audience worldwide.

IIUMEDIA: Empower You campaign is targeted to receive at least 300 participation over the three-day campaign period to see some changes in the pattern of listeners and readership of IIUM.fm and IIUMToday.***
