GOMBAK, 22 October 2014: Six participants took part in a cooking contest held at STABAZ recently, organised by the Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC) in collaboration with STABAZ.
Contestants were given the same main ingredient which was frozen minced beef and later they were randomly given an extra helping ingredients called the mystery ingredients. Those mystery ingredients were all frozen, easy to cook such as with meatballs, crab balls, hash browns and fried chicken.
Other dry ingredients given to the contestants were onions, oil, sugar, bread and bihun. Consequently they were given one hour and 45 minutes to produce a delicious, creative and good looking dish for the judges to taste and evaluate.
The judges were Mohamad Zul Falihin, the assistant administrative officer of EDC and a member of the main board of STABAZ.
The first judge Mohamad Zul Falihin said, Â œThe criteria of the winner dish is good taste and creativity, however, presentation as well is important because we always like what we see.
Nurashidah bini Zainul Anwar, a first year Psychology student took the first place with her killer dish œMiscellaneous supreme tortilla wrap.
She said, œI participated in this competition not just to win but to share my passion and little talent in cooking.
Her dish was a tortilla wrapped with minced beef and crab balls filling.
œI mixed everything, used many ingredients and went crazy with them but creative at the same time, she added.
