GOMBAK, 28 May 2025: A sharing session today about passion that can be turned into profit was discussed in a forum by Syeela Dzul from HRDC Accredited Trainer and Khafiz Al Kicok from Mountaineering Enthusiast during the Communication Festival 2025, organised by communication internship students at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Gombak. The festival took place from 27 to 29 May 2025.

The sharing session gave lots of information and inspiring words for students with both speakers, Syeela Dzul and Khafiz Al Kicok, sharing their deep passion for doing what they love by turning it into profit-making. The speakers’ stories explored how they turned passion into profit, the challenges they faced, and how their creativity and drive were helping them build their careers.

The first speaker, Syeela Dzul, also known as Syassis, was from HRDC Accredited Trainer and a voiceover talent for commercials. She mentioned that students should find the passion that they are comfortable and excited about. Before becoming a trainer, Syeela Dzul was a lecturer and alumna of IIUM. She graduated with a Bachelor of Human Sciences in English Language and Literature (Honours) degree. She mentioned, “Everything you share must have value.” Turning your passion into profit is not just about doing what you love; it is about sharing it in a way that brings value to others. Whether it is a product, a skill, or a story, everything you share should help, inspire, or solve a problem because that is where real growth begins said the speaker. Syeela Dzul added, “No one is gonna judge you.” Syeela found that she loves teaching English a lot, that was why she saw the opportunity in making it profitable.

The second speaker, Khafiz Al Kicok, was a mountaineering enthusiast making a bold move after leaving his initial career as an accountant. Khafiz is also an alumnus from IIUM, he graduated from the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS). He does guidance expeditions for other climbers and was given the opportunity to climb mountain K2, the second highest mountain in the world, after the famous Mount Everest. The cost to climb the mountain itself is usually RM100,000. As a guide, he was given the opportunity to climb the mountain for free as he campaigned to seek funds for climbing K2. Mr. Khafiz mentioned, “Do what you love,” which was what he did to climb K2.

Both speakers gave inspirations to students about their stories; on turning their passions into profits.***
