GOMBAK, 12 May 2023: The much-anticipated Communication Festival 2023 was successfully inaugurated on Monday (May 8) by Prof. Dr. Shukran Abd Rahman, the Dean of Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS).
Prof. Dr. Shukran congratulated the Communication Department, Communication Students’ Association (COSA), and relevant parties of the festival, led by Dr. Shakirah Mohd Nasir and Dr. Helmi Yusoh for their hard work in organising the event.
Moreover, Prof. Dr. Shukran conveyed his praise and compliments to the Kulliyyah during the opening speech for bringing impact to the university, not only in terms of academics but also of social and community products and activities.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the selection of the word ‘festival’ for the program was fitting due to its religious connotations, aligning the program with the core mission and vision of the Kulliyyah.
The atmosphere of the ceremony was further livened up with an opening video created by the internship class. Additionally, taekwondo and wushu performances by Nik Ehsan bin Nik Mohd Fahmee and Ma YungKang, respectively were showcased to portray the department’s diverse and inclusive community.

To end the event, the opening ceremony was intricately officiated by the cutting of ceremonial banners and the popping of party poppers.
