KUANTAN, 23 July 2020: An appreciation ceremony for the COVID-19 front liners of IIUM Kuantan and the Centre for Foundation Studies, IIUM Gambang campus, was held here yesterday (22 July), organised by the Office of Campus Director (OCD), IIUM Kuantan campus.
The ceremony was an appreciation of the front liners’ involvement during the COVID-19 pandemic that started in March for their contributions in making IIUM free from the pandemic.
They were honoured with the presentation of certificates of appreciations. Among the recipients were staff from the Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre @ IIUM (SASMEC) Offices in IIUM Kuantan and Gambang campus.
According to the university’s Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, IIUM is proud to have these front liners and it is an honour to give this acknowledgement although it is incomparable to the sacrifices that they have made to the IIUM community.
œThis shows the kind of commitment that they have for the university, very much based on the Islamic spirit and Islamic values, giving when needed.
œI am very proud of what they have done and I hope this will be the attitudes and practices that this university will adopt to make our institution a leading university,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Director of IIUM Kuantan Campus, Prof. Dr. Kamaruzzaman Yunus, thanked all the front liners and staff for the hard work in making sure that IIUM is COVID 19-free campus.
Similarly, the Director of CFS IIUM Gambang campus, Mr. Mir Azrul Shaharudin, expressed that this occasion was an unforgettable moment especially to all the front liners. He thanked the OCD for organising the ceremony.
œIn Gambang we have about 114 front liners working during the COVID-19 pandemic and we must thank them for their time and willingness to work during this period. ***
