GOMBAK, 21 September 2018: “Be satisfied with your efforts even if you failed, and know your idola.” This was among useful tips shared by two Dean’s List students, Salwa Mohd Azman and Najmi Mamat, in Thursday Live Show programme on IIUM.fm radio yesterday entitled ‘Dean’s List: A work of effort or privilege’.
Hosted by DJ Syakir Nizam, the live sharing slot was intended to reveal the secrets of getting the Dean’s List and to score in examination every semester, through three segments of dialogue from 6 pm until 7 pm at IIUM.fm county.
For Najmi Mamat, a Communication student, who is currently managing news and events at IIUMToday, he believed that one’s success very much related with hard work and ability to understand.
“Everyone has his or her own style of learning, so it depends very much on you, how to study effectively, besides always have a good plan every day,” said Najmi, whose priority was creating a good portfolio.
For Salwa, who is active in theatre performance, she agreed that students must understand their biological hour and know their capability of studying to focus on their study efficiently. She said, “Success isn’t a matter of privilege, rather it’s more of real hard work.”
Besides, she advised students to “be wise in taking notes during lectures” which she preferred to focus and listen attentively in class.
