Two rare, yet best natural water recreational places in Perak

By Saidatul Rosmera

Perak is popular with its heritage and calm surroundings. There are a lot of well-known places in the state. However, there are areas that are rarely known to people in Perak itself what more the outsiders. Here are the two most interesting places in the heart of Perak.

Kuala Razila

Kuala Razila is among the most beautiful, the most clean and the least contaminated water recreational place in Perak. It is located in Gopeng, which is 20 minutes from Ipoh via the highway. Kuala Razila is located inside quite a deep forest area. Isolated from busy cities and development, it is a quiet and calm place that must not be missed by those who love recreation. It is located in between Malay village and indigenous people’s village.

Kuala Razila is calmed by its clear river. People can do canoeing, rafting, jungle tracking, swimming, camping, and many other activities inside there. To get into Kuala Razila, it is advisable to use a four-wheeled drive car. The journey to reach there is adventurous. There are paved roads, but not all along the way. Moreover, the track to get inside can only be passed by a single car at a time. If two cars from opposite directions meet in the middle, most of the time one of them needs to reverse and find a wider road that it can stop for a while to give space to the other car to pass. Overall, for those who love adventure, nature and water, Kuala Razila is a must place to be visited.

Gunung Lang

From Kuala Lumpur to Perak, along the highway after the Ipoh-Selatan toll, it must be really unpredictable that there is a recreational area isolated under the busy highway. Gunung Lang is located in Ipoh Perak. A big lake with waterfall not only the attraction there. From the main entrance, there is a big playground area at a corner of its parking area. There is a jetty that is furnished with cafes. At the jetty, visitors can give foods to a lot of big fishes that are playing near the water surface waiting to be fed.

At the jetty, there are boats ready for service to bring you to the opposite site of the lake. The fee, less than RM5 per adult is really worthy as there are bigger surprises waiting at the opposite site of the lake.

On the opposite land, there is a big playground with rest areas. It provides a Musolla with facilities. And there is one thing that is really unpredictable there. At the end of the opposite land, there are big lands with cute animals placed for viewing where feeding is without any further charge. There are ostriches and deer that are really tame, birds, fishes, and for sure, monkeys (but these animals are not allowed to be fed as they are not in cage).***
