THERE has been an unprecedented expansion of higher education in Malaysia in the last two decades. There has also been an expansion of international schools and polytechnics, community colleges, and vocational and technical education. In universities, it is noted that there is an oversupply of graduates in various degree fields, such as medicine, nursing and teaching, to the extent that moratoriums had to be imposed to prevent further expansion in those areas.
