I REFER to Dr Tan Eng Bees letter, œLet ex-MBs case be a lesson to those in power (NST, Oct 2). While I agree with the writer that the one-year sentence imposed on former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo for corruption could be a lesson to those in power, such a light sentence will not deter anyone from committing corruption.
