TWENTY years ago, we couldnt have imagined driving from Kuala Lumpur in the morning and arriving five hours later in time for a nasi kandar lunch in Penang. But, the opening of the North-South Expressway in 1994 has changed Malaysians travelling experience. Faster access between states and within cities has made highways the catalyst for economic growth, and spurred industrialisation, trade and tourism.
