We cannot afford MACC, police turf war

IN performing their duties, the police invariably find themselves batting on a sticky wicket. It all seems unfair that whatever they do, they are always wrong in the eyes of large sections of the chattering masses. The recent police arrests of a few officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission suspected of leaking protected information in clear breach of the law are a case in point. While conceding that the police had acted within their rights, it was the manner in which the arrests were conducted that seemed to rub against the grain and jar on Malaysian sensitivities.
