KUALA LUMPUR: The magistrate’s court handed down a five-year jail term, four rotan strokes, and RM39,000 fine on a mosque committee member who conned 14 women whom he met online. Magistrate Nur A’minahtul Mardiah Md Nor sentenced Yawad Mokminin Taib, who pleaded guilty to 16 charges which included cheating and stealing from the victims, and disposing the stolen property which included jewelry.
