Err on the side of caution

MANY epidemics have swept through nations in the past, leaving death in their wake and striking fear and dread into people. Now, the Ebola virus has reared its ugly head in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia in Africa. More than 720 individuals, or 55 per cent of those infected, have died from the disease. Fears that the West African Ebola outbreak could spread to other continents are growing with European and Asian countries on alert, and a leading medical charity warning the epidemic was spreading out of control.
