Brunei visit by AIKOL students to study Shariah laws

BRUNEI: Undergraduate students from the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) had a great opportunity  to learn and gain knowledge about the Islamic legal system and the Shariah laws practiced in Brunei Darussalam during their visit to the rich nation recently.

A total of 21 students made a five-day visit to the country with the main objective to study the structure of laws under the Shariah system.

The visit was to enable the students to acquire new experiences regarding the Islamic legal system of the neighbouring nation.

Among the places the students visited were the Islamic University of Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Shariah Department as well the Shariah Court.

The Law Students’ Society (LAWSOC) of IIUM also took the opportunity to create a relationship and networking with its counterpart in UNISSA while on the trip.

This visit to Brunei Darussalam by AIKOL students received full support from the IIUM President, Tan Sri Dato Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim.
