BERNAMA: The Human Life Advancement Foundation (HLAF) is offering scholarships to students pursuing PhD and postdoctoral programmes here in the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties.<\/p>\n
IIUM rector Prof Datuk Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin said the collaboration would enable more students to create new technologies of commercial value.<\/p>\n
When representing IIUM at the signing of the MOU, she said that the university is committed in supporting research activities carried out by doctoral students through agreements signed with HLAF.<\/p>\n
Its chief executive officer, Junaidi Said, represented HLAF. The ceremony was witnessed by IIUM deputy rector Prof Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin and HLAF manager Melati Hassan Basree.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Junaidi said HLAF was offering scholarships worth USD15,000 and USD35,000 per academic year to those who were interested in furthering their studies at the PhD and postdoctoral level respectively.<\/p>\n
