In Malaysia, the most obvious example was the RCI set up to investigate the police which took place during the premiership of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. To this day, none of the recommendations has been acted upon. So when parliamentarians recently proposed the setting up of an RCI following the discovery of mass graves and death camps in Wang Kelian, Perlis, near the Thai border, one wonders what the objective is.
