\u2039GOMBAK, 27 February 2015: The 2015\u00c2\u00a0Humanitarian Expo 4.0 ended today with a closing ceremony\u00c2\u00a0officiated by the Director of Centre for University Social Responsibility (CENSERVE), Dato’ Hamidon Abd Hamid. The ceremony which took place\u00c2\u00a0at the\u00c2\u00a0Business Centre just behind\u00c2\u00a0the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah\u00c2\u00a0mosque, managed to attract\u00c2\u00a0more than 300 students to visit the expo.<\/p>\n

The event allowed students to know more about the clubs that they are interested in with regards to\u00c2\u00a0the activities that will be offered\u00c2\u00a0throughout the semester. \u00c2\u00a0Accompanying the Director of CENSERVE to\u00c2\u00a0the closing ceremony were the Senior Assistant Director of CENSERVE, Mohd Khairulzain Abd Rahman and Muhammad Asri Ismail, the President of\u00c2\u00a0CENSERVE and also was the Programme Manager for\u00c2\u00a0the Humanitarian Expo 4.0.<\/p>\n

“I hope more students can get involved in the community services as an\u00c2\u00a0amal soleh <\/i>since this kind of activities are part of our\u00c2\u00a0ibadah <\/em>and it is in accordance with our university mission to bring goodness to all mankind, rahmatan lil\u00c2\u00a0alamin <\/em>and our organisation mission,\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>to create the culture of contributing and caring for others,“\u00c2\u00a0<\/i>said Dato’ Hamidon in his closing remarks.<\/p>\n

Speaking to IIUMToday after the ceremony, he acknowledged the presence of the\u00c2\u00a0big number of students that had dropped their names to join the clubs and expected more participation especially from the international students. This is due to CENSERVE outreached programmes\u00c2\u00a0both locally such as in Sabah and Sarawak as well as\u00c2\u00a0at the international level such as Syria, Myanmar and Cambodia.<\/p>\n

With the participation from the international students, they hoped that they would be able to communicate properly with the locals of the states. He also stated\u00c2\u00a0on the future plan of CENSERVE in expanding the nature\u00c2\u00a0of activities and the need of\u00c2\u00a0students’ contributions to promote the betterment\u00c2\u00a0and development\u00c2\u00a0of the well-being of society.<\/p>\n

“This exhibition is another effort by \u00c2\u00a0CENSERVE to promote social responsibility and strengthen sharing and caring of culture among IIUM community,” he added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Inspire Club committee members, Khuzaimah Onzer and Fatimah noted that they have successfully gathered\u00c2\u00a0a big number of students since the start of the expo which began on Tuesday. According to them, the Inspire Club hopes to\u00c2\u00a0offer more\u00c2\u00a0activities such as the Inspire’s bazaar, Usrah! Aku datang!<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0and mentoring activities at various of schools this year.<\/p>\n

\u2039Dato’ Hamidon was later in attendance for the prize giving ceremony. The\u00c2\u00a0“Most Participative Club” went\u00c2\u00a0to the\u00c2\u00a0Anak-Anak Berakhlak Islam<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0(AKHI) club while the Student Facilitator (STEADFAST) club won the “Outstanding Booth.”<\/p>\n

The exhibition held from 24 to 27 February\u00c2\u00a0saw\u00c2\u00a015 clubs under CENSERVE taking part in this year’s Humanitarian Expo 4.0.***<\/p>\n
