{"id":429,"date":"2014-03-03T22:19:42","date_gmt":"2014-03-03T14:19:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iiumtoday.fadhilahwahid.com\/?p=429"},"modified":"2014-04-29T15:15:15","modified_gmt":"2014-04-29T07:15:15","slug":"launch-of-the-iium-policies-and-guidelines-on-islamisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=429","title":{"rendered":"Launch of the IIUM Policies and Guidelines on Islamisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div title=\"Page 2\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The IIUM Policies and Guidelines on Islamisation was officially launched last Friday by the rector of IIUM, Prof. Dato&#8217; Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin, at the Cultural Activity Centre (C.A.C.).<\/p>\n<p>According to the rector, the need for a written policy on Islamisation was felt in recent years due to a number of reasons with the expansion of IIUM.<\/p>\n<p>One of the reasons was that there was a need to clarify the meaning and implications of Islamisation in the Universitys context.<\/p>\n<p>The rector too explained that the written policy would also serve as a reminder for the academic and administrative leaders and managers to give due attention to the reason why IIUM was founded in 1983.<\/p>\n<div title=\"Page 3\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The Islamisation Policy, made reality by Professor Dato&#8217; Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin, Tan Sri Professor Dr Kamal Hassan, and Dr Azizan, under the Centre for Islamisation (CENTRIS), contains 8 policy statements and the guidelines for implementation.<\/p>\n<p>During the launch, Tan Sri Professor Dr Kamal Hassan took to the stage to give a brief introduction to the policy.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, he highlighted the four different categories of Islamisation of Human Knowledge (I.O.H.K) efforts in IIUM, from low necessity to highest necessity.<\/p>\n<p>Through categorization, the Professor said, members of the university will be able to identify their position in relation to the whole Islamisation process, and thus contribute.<\/p>\n<p>An academic staff who declined to be identified said that the policies are a good start, but a lot more work has to be done in order to make them a reality.<\/p>\n<p>The rector then concluded the launch by declaring that more awareness of the policy is needed to have it fulfill its purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Deans and directors from the academia and administration will be the first to be called to a special KCDI session.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IIUM Policies and Guidelines on Islamisation was officially launched last Friday by the rector of IIUM, Prof. Dato&#8217; Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin, at the&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1731,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"nelio_content":{"isAutoShareEnabled":true,"autoShareEndMode":"never","automationSources":{"useCustomSentences":false,"customSentences":[]},"followers":[],"suggestedReferences":[],"efiUrl":"","efiAlt":"","highlights":[],"permalinkQueryArgs":[]},"jetpack_featured_media_url":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Islamisationpolicy.jpg","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/429"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=429"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/429\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1763,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/429\/revisions\/1763"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/1731"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=429"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=429"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=429"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
