{"id":29125,"date":"2014-10-01T09:00:45","date_gmt":"2014-10-01T01:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=29125"},"modified":"2014-09-30T08:53:02","modified_gmt":"2014-09-30T00:53:02","slug":"evening-market-at-convest-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=29125","title":{"rendered":"Evening market at Convest Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By<\/em> Suraya Usamah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOMBAK, 26 September 2014: Evening <em>souq<\/em> (market) has taken place for the first time at the famous Convest Hill, IIUM from 5 until 10 pm. Starting from today onwards, the <em>souq<\/em> will be open twice a month for both students and outsiders.<\/p>\n<p>It is organised by Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) in collaboration with Federal Agricultural and Marketing Authority (FAMA) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).<\/p>\n<p>The evening <em>souq<\/em> includes around 17 to 20 different stalls selling fresh groceries such as chicken, fish, vegetables and fruits, and ready-to-eat food like the famous Uncle Bob fried chicken, homemade cakes, soya and more.<\/p>\n<p>An EDC assistant administrative officer, Mohamad Zul Falihin said that the aim of organising this<em> souq<\/em> is to provide affordable fresh products to the IIUM community including lecturers, students and staff.<\/p>\n<p>He furthermore mentioned that there would be a bus-like vehicle called \u0153Pasar bergerak 1 Malaysia\u009d selling dry groceries such as oil, sugar and rice.<\/p>\n<p>Anas Mohamad Naser who is selling various types of seafood said, \u0153We bring our products fresh directly from the fishermen, and sell it with the same cheap price.\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Nur Farhana, from Kulliyah of Economics and Management Science (KENMS), in cooperation with several other friends from other kulliyyah, was selling soya juice.
