{"id":28133,"date":"2014-09-24T13:10:21","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T05:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=28133"},"modified":"2014-09-24T18:23:34","modified_gmt":"2014-09-24T10:23:34","slug":"when-learning-is-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=28133","title":{"rendered":"When learning is fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>Amirul Hafiz<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR 19 September 14: Green, serene and demands little of ones pocket, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa certainly lives up to its reputation as one of the most popular metropolitan recreational parks where family picnics, the health-conscious jogs, couples date, working people unwind and students take a break from lectures and assignments.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the city centre the park offers recreational activities such as horse-back and horse-carriage rides, kayaking and other water-rides on the beautiful man-made lake. Children brought their own bicycles and skateboards while their parents relaxed to breathe-in the fresh air while enjoying the skyline view that includes the KLCC towers and Istana Budaya.<\/p>\n<p>A group of 10 International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Communication students who are also editorial members of the campus online newspaper <em>IIUM Today<\/em> recently went on a learning trip to the park for a news-gathering exercise and made the discovery. They were accompanied by their instructor Shawal Ras, <em>IIUM Today<\/em> advisor Dr Aini Maznina A Manaf and guest trainer Sujiah Salleh.<\/p>\n<p>\u0153It was quite a challenge hunting for news at a location where we werent even sure if anything was happening. But we managed to find things around the park to write about and while at it we had fun taking a horse-carriage ride.
