PAGOH, 16 May 2026: Mind Over Miles: Mental Awareness Night Run was successfully organised by 40 students from Section 2 of the Event Planning and Management (TMGT 3322) course under the Kulliyyah of Sustainable Tourism and Contemporary Languages (KSTCL). Held at Caf\u00e9, Mahallah Zaid bin Harithah, the event attracted 200 participants, including students from IIUM Pagoh and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), as well as members of the Pagoh community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organised in collaboration with IIUM Pagoh PEERS, the programme aimed to promote mental health awareness while encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle. Participants also engaged in various interactive activities, including the PEERS Booth, Kapture & Co. Photobooth, and the Wall of Hope, which further enhanced awareness and community engagement throughout the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Programme Manager, Nur Aina Najwa binti Baharuddin, said the collaboration with PEERS was chosen due to their shared commitment to mental health advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPEERS\u2019 involvement was very helpful, especially in spreading awareness through their booth activities and the mental health sharing session by Sr Nur Masturah, which made the event more meaningful,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nur Aina Najwa also expressed gratitude and relief that the event was successfully conducted after two months of preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOrganising an event of this scale was not easy. There were many challenges, especially in coordinating multiple stakeholders with different SOPs, managing medical and venue arrangements, and achieving our participation target within a 15-day promotional period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also had to continuously follow up on logistics and safety planning and make quick decisions to secure approvals from various parties. However, with the support and guidance of our instructor, Miss Nur Farhani and PEERS advisor, Nur Masturah, we successfully delivered the event,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that the event\u2019s success was made possible through the full commitment and teamwork of all committee members. In the future, it is hoped that everyone will be able to apply everything they have learned from this experience in their academic journey and future event management practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of Mind Over Miles: Mental Awareness Night Run<\/em> reflected the collective effort and dedication of the organising committee, collaborators, and participants. Beyond raising awareness on mental health, the event served as a meaningful platform for learning, community engagement, and personal development, leaving a positive impact on everyone involved.***<\/p>\n\n\n\n
