{"id":186807,"date":"2025-12-29T13:36:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=186807"},"modified":"2025-12-29T13:55:01","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:55:01","slug":"malam-pentas-larasuka-a-grand-concert-to-liven-up-tradition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=186807","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Malam Pentas Larasuka&#8221;: A Grand Concert to Liven Up Tradition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By, Nur Zahirah<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 17 December 2025: The Centre for Arts and Cultural Sustainable Development (CiTRA) of the IIUM announced the grand concert &#8220;<em>Malam Pentas Larasuka<\/em>&#8221; during a press conference today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The press conference was organised by the students of COMM 3317: Corporate Writing and took place at the Seminar Room, IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grand concert will be held in conjunction with the CiTRA Open Day 2025 on 24 December 2025, at the Main Hall ICC, IIUM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emile Wildan bin Izhar, the Programme Manager of CiTRA Open Day, said that the theme that was chosen was &#8220;<em>Lagenda Karya Musika<\/em>&#8220;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This theme was inspired by the idea of storytelling through music that blends tradition with a sense of fantasy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also highlighted that the main objective of this grand concert is to break the stigma people have towards traditional music.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The venture of traditional and contemporary arts of music is hoped to prove the capability of traditional music in mesmerising audiences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this concert, nine performances will be featured:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>IIUM Gamelan Gema Bangsa <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Angklung Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Acoustic Band<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Percussion Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Andeka Caklempong<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Sutra Pawana Dikir Barat Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Simfoni Arkana Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Nafastari Dance Club&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IIUM Malay Language and Literature Club <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, new dance choreography will also be introduced and performed by the IIUM Nafastari Dance Club.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the IIUM Malay Language and Literature Club (MALLIC \/ KBPM) will feature skits which are a new segment that has never been performed before in previous CiTRA events.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets starting from RM12.75. As of now, CiTRA offers bundle promotion for the purchase of four tickets and above.
