{"id":186658,"date":"2025-12-12T13:40:18","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T13:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=186658"},"modified":"2025-12-12T13:40:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T13:40:20","slug":"kulliyyah-of-science-celebrates-25-years-of-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=186658","title":{"rendered":"Kulliyyah of Science Celebrates 25 Years of Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By, Elesa Zainal<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 10 December 2025: The Kuliyyah of Science (KOS) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with 201 new graduates, bringing its total of alumni to 4,321 since it was founded in 2000.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dean of Kuliyyah of Science, Prof. Dr. Kamaruzzaman bin Yunus expressed gratitude to academic and administrative staff, noting that KOS has grown into one of IIUM\u2019s strongest centres with graduates now serving in major organisations such as Sime Darby, Pharmaniaga, Maybank, Universiti Malaya and international companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur success today is the result of the dedication of every academic and administrative staff member,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-186661\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-1024x577.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-768x433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-1536x866.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-2048x1155.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/IMG_0470-1-1920x1080.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Prof. Dr. Kamaruzzaman bin Yunus delivered his conferment of degrees during eight session of IIUM Convocation Ceremony.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To celebrate&nbsp;the anniversary, KOS organised various science activities, including the Pahang State Science Carnival featuring experiments, exhibitions, competitions, and a special environmental segment in collaboration with Jabatan Perhilitan. Alumni-led companies also sponsored several awards for outstanding graduates, showing the strong bond between KOS and its former students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KOS has expanded from three departments to six, offering programmes in Biotechnology, Plant Science, Marine Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematical Sciences.
