{"id":186254,"date":"2025-12-10T04:28:29","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T04:28:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=186254"},"modified":"2025-12-10T04:28:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T04:28:32","slug":"the-first-to-take-a-japanese-minor-across-campuses-muhammad-ali-inspiring-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=186254","title":{"rendered":"The First to Take a Japanese Minor Across Campuses: Muhammad &#8216;Ali Inspiring Journey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By, Husna Faizal<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 8 December 2025: Being the first and the only student to minor in Japanese language from a different campus makes Muhammad \u2018Ali Bin Abdul Mutalib\u2019s study journey truly unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u00a0made\u00a0the Rector&#8217;s List for the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Design (Honours) programme under the Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) during the recent IIUM 41st Convocation Ceremony, a recognition that reflects his dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By setting goals as his source of motivation, he constantly pushes himself to make the necessary sacrifices. He dedicates much of his time to achieving these goals, not only through his academic work but also by actively participating in co-curricular activities that help build his skills, confidence, and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduating with 159 credit hours was especially challenging because he was also pursuing a minor in Japanese language at Kulliyyah of Sustainable Tourism and Contemporary Languages, the Pagoh campus. He also expressed deep gratitude to his two teachers for their genuine care and support of his well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy advice would be to enjoy what you have, the friends, lecturers, and even the syllabus.
