{"id":185645,"date":"2025-11-12T15:22:38","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T15:22:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=185645"},"modified":"2025-11-17T13:41:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T13:41:07","slug":"a-night-to-commemorate-layla-thaqafiyyah-fascinates-the-crowd-of-al-multaqa-al-omani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=185645","title":{"rendered":"A night to commemorate: Layla Thaqafiyyah fascinates the crowd of Al-Multaqa Al-Omani"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By, <strong><em>Mas Danialissa Mahadi<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 6 November 2025: The Omani Research and Studies Centre, in collaboration with the AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), successfully organised a dynamic cultural event known as <em>Layla Thaqafiyyah<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This celebration took place during the inaugural Al-Multaqa Al-Omani at the Main Hall of the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) on 6 November 2025, from 9pm to 11pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muhammad Al-Wahabi from Oman led the opening performance with a rendition of the renowned song \u201c<em>Qalbi Fil Madinah<\/em>\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"481\" data-id=\"185683\" src=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot_20251112_225951_Gallery-1024x481.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-185683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot_20251112_225951_Gallery-1024x481.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot_20251112_225951_Gallery-300x141.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot_20251112_225951_Gallery-768x361.jpg 768w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot_20251112_225951_Gallery-1536x721.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Screenshot_20251112_225951_Gallery-2048x961.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>IIUM Mustangs Pencak Silat showcase fighting scenes using various weapons.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the excitement built, the IIUM Mustangs Pencak Silat team delivered a <em>Silat<\/em> performance. They showcased their mastery of various weapons, including <em>keris <\/em>and a knife. A standout moment came when one of the sisters executed a solo dance with her weapon, followed by dynamic fighting scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cultural night continued with a commanding solo performance by Iman Muath Al-Musharfi from Oman, singing \u201c<em>Akhi Anta Khurru<\/em>n\u201d. The atmosphere was lively as the audience actively joined in to sing along with the performer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event continued a  <em>dhikir barat <\/em>performance, featuring seven brothers who formed a circle and clapped their hands, while one brother led the singing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simfoni Arkana, the Malaysian champion of Dai Voice ASEAN 2025, captivated the audience as they delivered two English songs accompanied by beatboxing.
