The esteemed guest, Ustaz Jafri Mahmoodi, delivered a powerful and enlightening insights on \u201cYouth vs Desires: The Ultimate Jihad &#8211; Battling the Inner Struggle. It was a meaningful event held alongside the commencement of last year\u2019s Grand Tarbiah Talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event began with remarks by Dr. Haziqah Zulaikha, followed by a speech delivered by the Deputy Rector of Student Development and Community Engagement, Prof. Dato\u2019 Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Bin Noordin. Ustaz Jafri Mahmoodi began his talk by emphasising on the importance of understanding our enemies before going into battle. The enemies here referred to <em>Al-Nafs, Shaytan, <\/em>and <em>Al-Dunya, <\/em>the main rival of Muslims. The ustaz asserted that we must develop a strategic plan to conquer <em>nafs <\/em>effectively. Additionally, he stated that the weapon of <em>the nafs<\/em> is sleep, while its prison is <em>Qiyamullail<\/em>, waking up at night to perform voluntary prayers before <em>Fajr<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em>When we are younger, we act based on what we see and what we hear around us, as we grow up our knowledge determines our actions,\u201d He went on to explain how information and environment can be used to exert control over <em>nafs<\/em>.
