GOMBAK, 21 October 2024: The long-awaited annual event, \u201cECONS Festival 2024\u201d is finally back with a fresh theme, this time, tied around the \u2018Golden Eras of Islam\u2019 at the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) of IIUM Gombak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018ECONS Festival 2024: The Golden Age of Islam\u2019 organised by the Secretariat of Economics and Management Sciences (EMSS) is a week festival (20 to 26 October 2024), filled with exciting events aims at educating the public on the profound contributions made during the Islamic Golden Eras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival also acts as a bridge between the public and students of IIUM from other kulliyyahs<\/em> with the KENMS departments through active participation that contributes both entertainment and educational values, helping to enhance students’ skills and knowledge in real economic activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the programmes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Morning with TZA (Tengku Zafrul Aziz)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    On 20th October 2024 (6 am until 11 am) at the SHAS Mosque, Lecture Theatre 1. This program allows IIUM students to engage directly with the Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, encourages economic discussion on the nation\u2019s development, and fosters an open dialogue culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. ECONS FEST Food Bazaar & CarBooth Sale<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      From 21 to 26 October 2024 (10 am until 6 pm) at the KENMS Parking Space. With the motto \u201cCampus Cuisine: Celebrate this Together\u201d the festival offers not only delicacies to purchase but also promotes local businesses and draws students to come and support it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Gamebooth: Rawdat al-Ilm<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        From 22 October 2024 (1 pm until 5.30 pm) to 23 October 2024 (10 am until 5.30 pm) at the KENMS Compound and Business Compound. With the motto \u201cEmbarking on a journey full of edutainment\u201d, Rawdat al-Ilm<\/em> aims to provide students with educational content by integrating fun and creative elements. The games include the History of Islam throughout the World, Islamic Finance in Malaysia, and Islamic Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Mini Career Expo<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          From 23rd to 24th October 2024 (9 am until 5 pm) at the Dar al-Hikmah Library. The Mini Career Expo will take place. It is a networking event, that provides students with doors to meet with job seekers and discuss job opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Escape Room<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            From 23 to 24 October 2024 (4 pm until 9 pm) and 25 October 2024 (9 am until 9 pm) at the area beside EMSS HQ and AIKOL bridge. The classic escape room returns with an educational spin, incorporating the history of Islam in the Golden Age, contributing to students\u2019 problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Musleh Melody<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              On 23 October 2024 (8 pm until 10.30 pm) at the Experimental Hall, Rectory Building IIUM. With the slogan \u201cUnity Voices, Revising Legacy\u201d, Musleh Melody is a nasheed performance that aims to spotlight and act as a stage to showcase the talents of IIUM students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Content Creating Workshop<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                On 25 October 2024 (8 am until 12 pm) at the Lecture Theatre 1, KENMS. Featuring special guests Nik Izzuddin Omary and Amin and Abid Othman, this workshop will inspire students to think critically and creatively about becoming content creators through speakers\u2019 shared experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. The Unity Gala<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  On 25th October 2024 (8 pm until 11 pm) at the Experimental Hall. Under the motto \u201cOne World, Many Voices, United in Purpose\u201d the Unity Gala is the highlight of the festival which celebrates the IIUM community by promoting inclusivity and unity, featuring a special performance by Caliph Buskers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
