KUALA LUMPUR, 9 January 2023: \u0153We are the best art of Allah SWT. You cannot find\u00c2\u00a0any more beautiful art other than we human beings,\u009d said the Cultural Counselor of Iran Cultural Center, Mr Mohammad Oraee Karimi, during the launching of the visual arts exhibition in IIUM.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition aimed to assist artists, students, and the general public in appreciating the beauty of integrating Islam into various art styles while giving a platform to young Muslim artists to showcase their art. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Mr Karimi, the exhibition took the name \u0153Unite in Arts\u009d to remind the audience that, \u0153unity cannot be achieved without Allah\u02dcs will.\u009d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that, having a strong spiritual ties to Allah can bring unity among Muslims.

\u0153When art is only for art, it is meaningless. Art is valuable when it is for a higher goal, and that is for Allah SWT,\u009d he explained in line with the theme of \u0153Islamic art\u009d for the art exhibition that was held the following six days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of his speech, Mr Karimi expressed his admiration towards the strong determination of IIUM arts students in fighting for this cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also conveyed his hopes for the art exhibition to be the beginning of Islamic arts and may one day even be an international.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Programme Manager, Br. Adi Irfan Bin Zulfadli Kalai, emphasised enthusiasm in spreading awareness and appreciation for Islamic Arts, as well as arts in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0153Unite in Arts is the theme to show us that, even from an Islamic university, in an international university where we gather as one religion but with different races, backgrounds and conflicts, what comforts us all is art,\u009d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that this was the first visual arts gallery hosted in IIUM by the IIUM Art Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Br. Adi mentioned that the exhibition marked the beginning of a new era for IIUM Art Club and hoped for other exhibitions inclusive of performing arts such as poetry recitals and sajak in future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides showcasing the arts, IIUM Art Club also invited representatives from other language-focused clubs such as IIUM Malay Language & Literature Club (MALLIC), IIUM Poetry Club, and Clairvoyance, to perform their spoken word poetry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He took the chance to remind the audience of IIUM Art Clubs motto, Art is a form of language. \u0153A language that may not be heard but can be seen.\u009d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Opening Night of IIUM Art Clubs \u0153Unite in Arts\u009d Exhibition was hosted by Mr Karimi at the Iran Cultural Center on 10 December 2022.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unite in Arts exhibition was held for six days from 11-16 December 2022 (excluding the public holiday on Monday) from 9.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. at Kulliyyah AED Gallery, IIUM Gombak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
