{"id":138623,"date":"2020-03-24T10:02:48","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T10:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=138623"},"modified":"2020-03-24T14:37:56","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T14:37:56","slug":"iium-distributes-3000-food-bags-to-its-students-in-gombak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=138623","title":{"rendered":"IIUM distributes 3,000 food bags to its students in Gombak"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em><strong>By Hidayah Sahrunizam<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 24 March 2020: The Alumni Relations Divisions of IIUM has distributed a total of 3,000 food bags for IIUM students who are staying in campus during this Control Movement Order (CMO) on Monday (23 March). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The food bags that contain dry foods have been donated by the alumni and public in general as the Alumni Relations Division had managed to collect RM105,730 in less than three days following the launching of the donation drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The food bags were distributed at Mahallah with the cooperation of the Principal of Mahallah to ensure that the students adhere to the social distancing protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"756\" height=\"1008\" src=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0054.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-138625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0054.jpg 756w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0054-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 756px) 100vw, 756px\" \/><figcaption><em>Director of Alumni Relations Division, Dr. Azam handing over food bags to the <br>Principal of Mahallah Asma<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The food bags were also distributed to the students with disability directly to their respective rooms in the Mahallah to ensure that their welfare were being taken care of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0051.jpg?fit=768%2C1024&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-138626\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0051.jpg 810w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0051-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG-20200323-WA0051-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Deputy Director of Alumni Relation Divisions, Ms. Siti Aisyah Ibrahim told IIUMToday that the division will make another round of distribution next week and that it still accepts donations from the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Siti Aisyah further noted that the food bags will be distributed in IIUM Kuantan, Pagoh and Gambang on Wednesday (25 March) or Thursday (26 March). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also asked the students to follow the advice and fulfil their responsibilities to help curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, at the same time, keeping the test as a reminder of how fragile human beings are while putting the trust and hope on Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Food Bag Donation Drive is still open to the alumni and the general public who intend to donate and donation can be made until 27 March 2020 to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UIAM OPERATION ACCOUNT<br> Account No: 1407 \u201c 000000 \u201c 4716<br> (Bank Muamalat)<br> Reference: Covid19                         ***<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Hidayah Sahrunizam GOMBAK, 24 March 2020: The Alumni Relations Divisions of IIUM has distributed a total of 3,000 food bags for IIUM students who&hellip;
