{"id":134730,"date":"2019-11-22T02:31:44","date_gmt":"2019-11-22T02:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=134730"},"modified":"2019-11-22T11:48:14","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T11:48:14","slug":"reliving-childhood-memories-at-pr-fest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=134730","title":{"rendered":"Reliving childhood memories at PR Fest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By Mohamad Alif Imran<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 22 November 2019: Public Relations Fest (PR Fest) which was conducted from Monday (18 November) until Thursday (21 November) at the HS Square has attracted a lot of crowds and received good feedback, thanks to one of the main attractions, the traditional games.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fest which was organised by the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA) \u201c IIUM Chapter featured games such as <em>congkak<\/em>, <em>batu Seremban<\/em>, <em>ceper <\/em>and <em>gasing<\/em> for the students to enjoy while reliving back their childhood memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Syafiqah Sayuti, a third year Communication student, told IIUMToday that it has been a while since she last played the traditional games and it was a thrill to be able to play such games again.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0153The memories came flooding back to the time when I was playing <em>batu Seremban&nbsp;<\/em>with my friends and the time when technology was not dominating our life,\u009d she said adding that the younger generation barely knows about these traditional games as technology has replaced them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Ahmad Dhiya, a second year Communication student said that playing <em>ceper&nbsp;<\/em>reminds him of his childhood days. The time when there are no classes, no assignments and just the feeling of joy all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival did not just attract Communication students but also students from other departments, such as Muhammad Rahmuni Shahmi, a second year Psychology student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0153Traditional games seem to be forgotten because of the development of technologies.
