{"id":133975,"date":"2019-11-12T01:47:15","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T01:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=133975"},"modified":"2019-11-12T09:23:18","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T09:23:18","slug":"women-can-still-be-fashionable-within-syariah-of-islam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=133975","title":{"rendered":"Women can still be fashionable within &#8216;syariah&#8217; of Islam"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By Li Mengyao<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 12 November 2019: Muslim women can still be fashionable as long as it is within the <em>syariah<\/em> of Islam, Ayesha Syahira, author of &#8220;Being a Quran Tag Girl&#8221;, said at the &#8220;An-Nisa Night&#8221; on Saturday (9 November).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She pointed out that fashion is something every woman can pursue as long as it does not go against the injunctions of Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fashion show called &#8220;An-Nisa Night&#8221; was organised by I-Masjid group, IIUM, in its mission to educate IIUM female students to understand what fashion in Islam is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was held from 8.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m. at Multipurpose Hall, Mahallah Hafsa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharing her views, Ayesha said Muslim women should dress properly according to the Quran and Sunnah as mentioned in the Quran (7: 26): \u0153O children of Adam, we have provided you with garments to cover your bodies, as well as for luxury\u00a6\u009d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two speakers were present at the event, namely the founder of Uswah Official, Ilanah binti Abdullah, and author of &#8220;Being a Quran Tag Girl&#8221;, <em> <\/em>Ayesha Syahira, to share their stories in relation to fashion in Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"912\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/33.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-133977\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/33.jpg 912w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/33-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/33-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 912px) 100vw, 912px\" \/><figcaption>The speakers in the event <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the event&#8217;s programme manager, Farah Lina Binti Mohamed Radzif, the purpose of this event is to explain to IIUM female students how to be fashionable, within the Islamic <em>Shariah<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"912\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/22.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-133978\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/22.jpg 912w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/22-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/22-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 912px) 100vw, 912px\" \/><figcaption>Participants of the catwalk <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Four participants and eight models took part in the catwalk. First-prize winner, Najla Sahira binti Abodul Latife, said the reason why she attended this event was that she wanted everybody to know that Muslims can also be fashionable people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maizatul Lalien, one of the audiences who attended the event, said this event had opened up her mind that Muslim women could be beautiful based on the Islamic law.
